Hello. (Je ne parle pas français. Je dois écrire en anglais). I would just like to say, thank you for making such an awesome game. It really is one of the most interesting experiences that I have ever had in a game. I am glad I found this game when I did. Anyway, keep up the good work, and make the 5th episode an amazing one. I have not played the 4th episode yet, but the 3rd one was absolutely amazing. I have a small request for episode 2, however. The first time I went through the episode, I was talking to one of the patients (I do not remember the name), in the scene where she tries to frame Liz Coal with a gun. When I looked at the options for how to confront her, there was an option that was just a few random letters and numbers. I tapped it and then Fox said the line of random letters and numbers, and then I reached the final cut-scene of episode 2! I was surprised, and disappointed that I missed some of the episode. I decided to replay the episode, and this time, when going through all the dialog, I kept picking different lines than what I did on the first time, to see how it would go. This time, however, before I could even reach the part that I was at before, I completely ran out of options. All of the locations told me to come back later because there were no clues, and none of the people had any dialog options other than “Investigate?”. This forced me to restart the episode, which was frustrating. So, if possible, would you please fix these 2 bugs from episode 2? I don’t want to let these things take away from the overall experience, but I don’t want to always pick the same options in fear of getting stuck again. That is all that I have to say. Keep up the great work, and I hope that these 2 issues can be fixed.

Thanks for the kind words and the bug report we’ll look into this!
The “text” bug may happen despite our best effort I’ll try to fix this one, but I’m quite surprised you got stuck with no option. Are you sure you didn’t miss a clue in a scene?
Also, are you playing on the latest version of the game? We fixed several bugs on episode #2 a couple of months back.
Thank you for replying! I currently have the latest version of the game, although I encountered the text bug before the 4th episode was released. So hopefully it has already been fixed, and if not, then I can just pick another option instead (I have the feeling that the text should have been one of the “An important event occurred, do you want to remember it?” options, since it acted like that). However, when the 4th episode came out, I decided to replay all the episodes in one go. I went through the first episode just fine, (By the way, great job remaking the first episode to fit the rest better.) and then I went to the second episode. I do not remember exactly where I ran out of options, but it was before I had met the last patient. I spend about 30 minutes going through all the different locations and characters over and over. I always got the message that “something Important happened before I came here again”. All the characters had no dialog option other than investigate. I’m sorry that I can’t be more specific on where I went wrong, but I generally kept picking the more “Obscure” dialog options, instead of the ones near the top. I am 100% certain that there were no options left, but I have managed to get through the episode twice before without getting stuck. I might have just left an important clue behind when I chose to “remember” the new events. I specifically remember that I did NOT check to see if I had left anything behind, and I just immediately triggered the new memory. So maybe I will never get stuck if I check each area before triggering the memory. I’ll keep that in mind when I replay the episode.
If this is the case, then maybe being informed if I do not have everything required will be a good way to fix the issue. I think that there should at least be an option to restart an episode after starting it, because I had to restart the first episode again to retry the second one. It would be great if the option to restart was added.
Either way, this game has been amazing so far, with the 3rd episode being one of the most atmospheric experiences ever. I bet that the rest of the episodes will be just as good.
Thanks for hearing me out!
Thanks again, we’ll definitely look into this issue!
Edit: Each part of the episodes is independent, so you can’t get stuck if you didn’t cross-checked everything before you launch the event.
The option “Not to remember what came next yet” is there to give you a chance to read some bonus texts you may have missed before triggering the event.
I see. Well, if that wasn’t the issue, then I’m not too sure. What I do know is that this was probably a very rare occurrence. Either way, thanks for listening!
I just wanted to inform you, I went through the second episode and completed it without issues. I believe that I know why I was stuck the last time. After triggering the first memory, before I met Ines, I went through each area to find clues. After finding the clues in all the areas, I continued through the episode until I investigated Magnus Lingden’s apartment. After finding the clues, I decided to re-search each area. In each area that I went to, I was told that something important happened before I found something. However, when I went to the decrepit factory (Raymond’s hideout) I saw a new clue, the footsteps left by Ines, even though I was still told that there were no clues in the area. This means that when I got stuck, it might have been because I THOUGHT that there were no clues, even if there were none. Also, after talking to Pedro, I was told that I would find a lead in the decrepit factory, but when I went there, I was told that there were no clues. I hope that was helpful, I’m just glad that made it through and I can now play the best episode that I have played so far, episode 3, and then go through the fourth episode, which ai haven’t played yet, but I am really eager to play it. Finally, don’t worry about the text bug that I mentioned in my first comment. I managed to get to the exact spot that I found it the last time, and there was a perfectly well functioning option instead of it. So I bet it was fixed in the last update.
Overall though, what matters is that you have made a game that I will truly never forget, with some of the most haunting piano music in a game, that just makes it so interesting, and the story quality went straight through the ceiling in the 3rd episode. I was just that great. I would easily call Echoes one of the best interactive novel style games that I will ever play, and it is simply getting better and better with every update. Thank you so much for continuing to work on this amazing game. I hope that the last episode goes well, and whatever comes next is great as well.
Wow, you’ve really pinpointed where the issue is! Thanks a bunch, we’ll get this fixed for the next update.
